Vibe Machine™ V-1 reviews & sound clips
STEVE STEVENS,
legendary guitarist for Billy Idol
"Hi Zvonch,
I got the pedal safe and sound. It is incredible. Sometimes people get hung up on Univibe pedals having to be exactly like the original 1969 version. I believe that if you can use modern technology to improve on something, then byall means do it. That's how i feel about the Vibe Machine, it actually sounds like the best recorded examples of Univibe sounds, Hendrix & Trower come to mind. I am putting together a new travel pedalboard and your pedal will be on it for sure. BTW this video is fantastic, and creative. I hope to meet you next year when Billy Idol plays Croatia.
All the best,
Steve Stevens "

"Univibe is, or it was, or it will be on the GAS list of every serious guitar player. Unavailability and costs of well - known clones only further complicate the procurement, so Zvonch’s idea of building the Univibe pedal, which was presented on Vault66 forum, was welcomed among domestic musicians like sunshine after the rain. I thought to myself, that’s big, many failed to succeed. As the project developed, true connoisseur, proficient and enthusiasts were discovered. With absolute commitment and perfection, he built a superb product, the Vibe Machine!
Seeing all that, I didn’t think long but I ordered my own copy. The Vibe Machine isn’t just the smallest Univibe clone in the world, but the clone with the perfect sound. Warm, organic pulsating, seductive, hypnotic sound, everything I expected from the real vibe. From the quality of the components, meticulously handcrafted, plethoras of options, beautiful finish and optimal dimensions, to the fine-tuning in collaboration with famous musicians, it’s all there.
There’s nothing to object to, about the Vibe Machine. In addition to the things mentioned above, Zvonch plays the guitar, which is a big plus for a pedal builder. As a longtime musician, I can say I am thrilled with this pedal, so I sincerely recommend DryBell Vibe Machine to anyone who’s looking for "the vibe" sound. Straight A! "

"After testing a lot of vibe pedals I finally found a pedal that nails that classic Univibe sound that we know and love from the old records. Plus it is a small box that won´t take up half of your pedalboard."

"For me, there are no disadvantages on this pedal. I purchased it because I wanted something unique and simple to use. The Vibe Machine has it all: amazing univibe sound and a small housing so that I can take it anywhere anytime! If you are looking for something that is durable, reliable and innovative, you can't go wrong with DryBell! It is definitely worth the $295, but $ 269 would be more acceptable."

"I was looking for a Univibe clone for a long time and when an interesting version finally appeared right here in Croatia, I decided to go for it. With its incredible sound, the Vibe Machine is the smallest Univibe clone ever. It has great additional options like changing default factory settings oscillations, volume, input-output impedance adjustment, Leslie effect, etc.
I haven’t found any significant shortcomings. Suggestions for future series: Leslie effect could have a slower changing speed when accelerating. All in all, this is a great product with a very good technical support and a great cooperation with its inventor. What really influenced my decision to purchase this product was the Vault66 forum on where all the stages of building the Vibe Machine were presented by its builder. This pedal costs less than it’s worth!
The quest for the Univibe clone is over!"

"Intro: When browsing for a pedal, first impressions are everything. Not just the aesthetics, but the whole story behind it. This pedal just shines from every angle.

Sound:

Vibe_Machine_funky.mp3
Vibe_Machine_chorus_riff.mp3
Vibe_Machine_vibrato_slow_passage.mp3
There is not much too say about the sound: it is superb! But so many other vibe pedals have superb sound, so what is the catch? The catch is in the details! The stuff that is not in the “center” of the pedal, but without it, it just wouldn`t be that great.
Extra stuff: First things first; this pedal is small for a vibe pedal with all the features. To me that is very important. The Vibe is not an effect I often use and what's the point in having a pedal twice the size of the regular one, for just one effect? With its small box it is very compact and pedalboard friendly. Second; all the important stuff and extra options are there: input buffer option, output buffer option, volume trimmer, output jack for an expression pedal and many more extra stuff for fine tuning this vibe pedal. Of course all the normal controls like speed, depth, and chorus/vibrato are also there.
Build quality: Build quality of this pedal is top notch. This is actually the win or fail factor for me. I had the opportunity to see the insides of this pedal before buying it and it blew me away. I strongly dislike sloppy work inside effect pedals and I am not a big fan of so called “handwired” work. I like neatly populated and well designed PCB`s. And inside of this pedal just looks like a piece of art. Not to mention that the pedal is also very sturdy and has a fancy finish.
All in all, this pedal does it for me, it has all the stuff I need and more. It is very detail oriented with lots of options, but on the other hand; very easy to use. And the most important thing; when you turn it on, you just can`t stop vibing . "

"I have followed the development of the Vibe Machine on the forum while it was still a baby J I was sure that there won't be any mistakes but the pedal definitely went far beyond my expectations. There's no hum, it doesn't change the basic color of the instrument, it sounds just like the Hendrix, I couldn't ask for more... A very cool idea is the possibility of switching ON /OFF of the buffer and the inertia simulation when using the exp. pedal. All in all, a really cool vibe meticulously crafted and packaged in a small sexy box, alongside the great price! I definitely recommend it! DryBell rules! I hope that tremolo will come out soon ! "
